The Dr. Kent G. Ellis Heritage Park
The Dr. Kent G. Ellis Heritage Park was officially opened in June of 2008 and is located at 4247 Hopedale Road. The park was named in honor of longtime resident and doctor to area residents, Dr. Kent Ellis. Funding for the space was raise through the cooperation of Federal and Provincial governments as well as the generous support of donors and volunteers.
This beautiful green space is adjacent to the Confederation trail and is home a large gazebo, numerous benches, picnic tables as well as an observation deck on a lower 1000 foot trail the runs along the river. Throughout the park there are a number of interpretive signs sharing the history of the community with visitors.
